Mudjacking and foam lifting do the same thing: pump material under a sunken slab to raise it. We use high-density polyurethane foam instead of mud. The holes are smaller, there’s no slurry mess, and because the foam is waterproof it won’t wash out in the spring melt the way mud does. The material costs more, and it does more. Foam is waterproof, so spring melt can’t wash it out the way it erodes mud slurry. It adds almost no weight to the soil that already failed under your slab, so the concrete is far less likely to sink again. Most customers pay the difference once instead of paying for mudjacking twice.
Foam is inert, waterproof, and closed-cell, so it holds its shape and doesn’t erode. As long as the slab itself stays sound, the lift stays put, and every job is backed by our written warranty. Mud slurry, by contrast, can wash out in a few years and need redoing.
We patch the 5/8" holes. They show right after the job, then blend in over time, and they’re far smaller and less noticeable than the pop-can-sized holes mudjacking leaves.
